What size am I?

All Harper Coats come in sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL. The size chart below references standard clothing sizes that you typically wear, and the associated Harper size: XS -- women's size 0-2 S -- women's size 4-6 M -- women's size 8-10 L -- women's size 12-14 XL -- women's size 16-18 If you have any questions about your size, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us! Tell me about Harper Coats’ construction and manufacturing practices.

At Harper Coats, we want to change the way coats are made as much as we want to make the best coats for the worst weather. We design, fit, and test our coats in the heart of the Garment District in New York City and partner with legacy factories in China to cut and sew with the highest ethical and manufacturing standards in the business. We also transport our goods using ocean freight to reduce our carbon footprint, source cruelty-free materials, and opt for sustainable quality at every opportunity.

How do I care for my coat?

A core tenet of Harper Coats is that we aren’t coat elitists. That means fewer trips to the dry cleaner and the ease of tossing your coat in your washing machine after slushy snow angels or a hot chocolate fiasco. In between machine washes, you can wipe any spills or spots with a damp cloth. A couple helpful hints: 1) before machine-washing the January Parka, remove faux fur trim to keep it light and soft 2) never use bleach products on your Harper Coats 3) empty your pockets - our coats are weather-proof but won’t protect cash, Airpods, or chapstick in the laundry ;) **You may receive a coat with a care tag incorrectly instructing you to dry clean your coat. This is a mistake. All Harper Coats are suitable for machine washes.**

What does PETA-Approved Vegan mean?

Harper Coats is proud to offer a fully vegan line. In partnership with PETA, we have developed a collection of cruelty-free, sustainable outerwear in accordance with PETA’s animal friendly standards. We are proud to be among their vegan-approved businesses and we’re excited to continue learning about more vegan-friendly materials, adapting our manufacturing practices, and sharing our cruelty-free message to anyone who will listen. In a time when sustainability is top-of-mind, we are pleased to do our part by reducing dependence on toxic and environmentally-taxing fur-farms and the like. Wait, what about January Coats?

The original brand, January Coats, was our first foray into outerwear. We worked for a year to build the best parka at a great price and in November 2019, January was born. After selling out and hearing from hundreds of women about what they loved about the parka, we knew we had something exciting on our hands. We spent the off season developing and testing new styles and researching even more about manufacturing processes. In early 2020, we decided to go animal-product free, added two styles and two colors to our collection, and rebranded to Harper Coats as a representation of the future we want to build. The original parka is now our signature style, The January Parka. We are so thankful to our early adopters, first customers, and all the women that shared feedback and insights with us; we wouldn’t be here without you.

What payment methods does Harper Coats accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal (hello@harpercoats.com), and QuadPay! Please keep in mind that if you use a debit card to process your order, refunds will likely take an additional 5-7 business days to process in your account. Not familiar with QuadPay? That’s okay! QuadPay is a payment platform that lets you pay for your Harper Coats order over four installments, rather than all at once. If your payment installations are on time, there is no additional cost to using QuadPay; QuadPay also does not run credit checks or do anything during the verification process to affect your credit score. What is your exchange & return policy?

At Harper, we want you to find the absolute perfect coat for you and your winter so we guarantee free exchanges and returns. If you would like to make an exchange or return, please email us at hello@harpercoats.com with EXCHANGE REQUEST or RETURN REQUEST (respectively) plus your order number in the subject line within 15 days of delivery. A friendly customer team member will process and send you a PDF prepaid return label; we suggest you reuse the polymailer your order came in to return your item(s). When we receive, we will confirm your exchange item order has been placed or that your original payment method has been refunded. We’re doing our best to process returns as quickly as possible for the Harper community. Please remember that we can only accept returns of coats that are in unworn, brand new condition with tags intact. Due to Covid and staffing restrictions, refund processing delays of up to 2 weeks may occur so we can prioritize order fulfillment. How can I exchange or return my coat?

In order to ensure your complete satisfaction, we accept exchanges or returns of coats that are in unworn, brand new condition with tags intact. To make a request for an exchange or return, please get in touch with us by sending an email to hello@harpercoats.com with EXCHANGE REQUEST or RETURN REQUEST and your order number in the subject line. We will send you a PDF prepaid label to use to return your order.. We suggest you reuse the polymailer your order came in to return your item(s). When we receive the coat, we will either confirm the exchange order or confirm the refund to the original payment method. ***We’re doing our best to process returns as quickly as possible for the Harper community. How long will it take to receive my coat?

We fulfill orders quickly here at Harper Coats because we know nothing leaves you out in the cold like waiting on your online order! Our ground shipping option takes between 1 business day and 7 business days, depending on where you are in the US. We fulfill orders from New Jersey; the closer you are to us, the sooner you’ll receive your new coat, based on the UPS zone map. Most orders arrive at their destination within 3 business days! *** After implementing changes in our fulfillment procedures due to COVID19, we occasionally experience fulfillment delays. UPS may also experience delivery delays, which we are unable to control. Do you ship internationally?

We ship to all fifty states in the USA. Standard UPS Ground service is free on every order and we also have UPS Second Day service available for $35. We’re also beta-testing international shipping to Canada and Europe! USPS Priority International service is $50. ***We cannot guarantee delivery timeframes/duties fees at this time.***

What carrier do you use?

For outgoing shipments, we use UPS. Returns are typically serviced through the friendly folks at USPS.

What is my tracking information?

When we fulfill your order, you will receive an email with your tracking number linked inside; you’ll know the instant your Harper coat has landed! If you have any other questions about your order, you can always email us at hello@harpercoats.com.

Can I make a change to or cancel my order?

We fulfill orders quickly here at Harper Coats, normally within one business day of you placing your order! If the team hasn’t fulfilled your order yet, we’ll do our best to make any changes/cancellations you need. If the order is already on its way to you, we are unable to make changes to or cancel your order.
